This inn with an "unbeatable location" opposite the Houston Astros' Minute Maid Park hits a "home run" say fans who cheer the "pleasant" rooms, "subtle baseball-themed design" and view of "the ball park from the roof"; it covers all the bases with the "wonderful" on-site Vic & Anthony's steakhouse, a bar that's "great for grabbing a drink" pre- or post-game and state-of-the-art, WiFi-enabled meeting facilities.

Decor - baseball.
Staff was standoffish, not very friendly, acted like I was intruding on them.

Really great baseball decor. Nice rooms. Decent gym. Poor food (grilled chicken breast sandwich was dry like jerky) . Mediocre to poor staff in terms of friendliness, helpfulness, and interest in making guest feel comfortable. ...read more

Nice lobby.
Exercise room is small and poorly equipped; no self parking; hot water very slow.

Area
Not quite honest.

Nice hotel but said continental breakfast was included... wasn't true... paid
bucks for us to eat... added 30 bucks to get two beds in a room... fine to pay these charges if all is honest and above board ahead of time. ...read more

The baseball decor.

It is near the ballpark in a part of Houston that has been renovated.

Very large rooms with fabulous furnishings.
The wall light switches were dirty, but rest of room was very clean.

I travel frequently for work, and this was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The rooms were large and elegantly outfitted. And the classic baseball theme that runs throughout the hotel adds a lot of charm. If not for the dirty light switches in the room, I'd rate this room practically perfect. ...read more

Room was clean.
Bad food.

Parking is available with $22 night only. The internet connection was too slow. The complaint of food poisoning as I was suffering with vomiting and diarrhea were met with cursory apology. Not a good place to stay. ...read more

The atmosphere was one of excellence and treated with the utmost respect by all of the staff.
There was a mix up over our room and the number of beds, but it was quickly resolved.

We all said that we would love to come back and stay when we actually had time to really enjoy our stay. Our meeting went so long and we arrived so late that we had little time to enjoy all the hotel has to offer. I am looking forward to going back and being pampered! ...read more

The hotel was convenient to getting on the highway or traveling downtown.
We were rushed at checkout due to a large party.

Usually a lobby is much nicer than the actual hotel room, but at Ballpark, the actual lobby portrayed the room. I would definitely stay again.

Great rooms, great social area in lobby.
No self parking facility; do not like valet parking.

Everything great except I do not like valet parking and this hotel has no self parking facility. If you park on the street, it is relatively secure, but you have to put money in the meter at 6:30 a.m. or risk a hefty fine. ...read more

The bathroom was clean and huge!
I know its a baseball hotel, but not everyone loves the sport.

The place is clean, and the rooms are excellent. The restaurant and bars are not that great, but who wants to hangout in hotel's restaurant or bar.
